Each day you encounter friends and loved ones who are hurting. They are suffering. Their pain from a loss, frustration with others or with ‘have to’s’, some are suffering various levels of abuse, or they may be a various levels of dealing with a sickness.
God chooses you and other believers to care for them. Actually, He has clothed you with His precious gifts necessary for caring-excellence. These are compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Yet, how do you get at them or access them when you know you need them?
Begin like Jesus always begins. Start loving the other person with all your heart, mind, and soul. Feel yourself be transformed by this holy love, so much so that you are transformed into a Mother Teresa type of person or a Saint Francis of Assisi person.
Then give yourself freedom—move gently forward toward the suffering person and sense from Holy Spirit how you should help.
Heavenly Father, loving you as tremendously as He does, will always give you clear directions on how to help this suffering person you face. God is love. Begin with love and go from there.
