People need to find in us the kind of love that is greater than their faults and sufficient for all their problems. As Christians, we can face facts with others understandingly. We can be good listeners and hear them out. We can remember that there's always another side to a story. And, we can keep quiet in twenty languages about what people have told us of themselves and their problems.
The truth is, when we're good listeners who keep confidences, we transmit the love and concern of Christ into lives that need Jesus' healing touch. Love and care expressed in those ways reveal a faith which is contagious. That kind of faith comes like a breath of fresh air into a home, business, or social situation.
Jesus says, "I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples. If you have love for one another." (John 34-35)
