The angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And now, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give to him the throne of his ancestor David. He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his Kingdom there will be no end.” Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I am a virgin?” The angel said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be holy; he will be called Son of God. And now, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son; and this is the sixth month for her who was said to be barren. For nothing will be impossible with God.” Then Mary said, “Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word.” Then the angel departed from her. Luke 1:30-38
Then Mary went with haste the 100 miles to her Aunt Elizabeth and Uncle Zachariah's home. When Elizabeth greets her and her child (John the Baptist) leaps within her, she praises Mary saying, " Blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her by the Lord.”
The Good News of Messiah Jesus' conception was motivating for Mary. She goes to Elizabeth in haste! It is the Peace of God which allows us to move and think clearly and quickly. God's Peace is the fullness of Holiness within us. As Christmas approaches I've had times of overwhelming Peace-- God's Presence like a visitation from the Angel. God's anointing of Holy Spirit Peace is so powerful that I stop what I'm doing and pray for you to have this glorious Peace.
It may be a regular day and then God's Peace touches your heart. Regular turns into extra-ordinary. God's extra Peace lifts us, comforts us, assures us we are Loved, and Peace heals our hearts. Peace on Earth comes. Yes, Jesus is the fulfillment of God's Promised Peace.
