We remember the poor widow who came to give her offering and put in two small copper coins, which were worth a penny. Jesus saw and He spoke to His disciples about her quiet action. "Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the treasury. For all of them have contributed out of their abundance; but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on." (Mark 12:42-44) Jesus notices a sacrificial attitude.
Others who gave their offerings to the treasury heard the trumpets blast with announcement! 'Gifts from important people,' the trumpets seemed to say. Yet with the poor widow no noise was made. No notice from others occurred. Not one person turned their head to smile at her excepting Jesus' beautiful eyes saw. Jesus looks at her heart and His words trumpet appreciation to His disciples. He sees her. He sees you. Perhaps no one notices you except One.
You may quietly put on your face-mask and social distance (sacrificing comfort for others health safety), and you may not respond in anger when someone else flings their anger at you, and you may quietly help someone you suspect dementia is coming upon, and you may silently contribute offerings. There is much more that you quietly do too. It is your sacrificial heart's attitude that Jesus appreciates in you. You are SO like Him. You are making this world better. Bless you In Jesus' Name. Bless you.
