After Mary and Joseph had taken Jesus to the temple for his dedication ceremony, and had witnessed God's expectant praises and adoration through old Simeon and the prophet Anna, they went home to Nazareth. Jesus grows up strong as He helps is father Joseph in the family carpenter shop. He is filled with wisdom which leads others to right living. And the favor of God was upon Him.
And each year Mary and Joseph make the journey to Jerusalem for the festival of the Passover. This was their one out-of-town trip. And later, when Jesus begins His ministry to us by going down to the river for Baptism by His cousin John, the passover festival will one day include His Messianic triumphal entry on a colt as He makes His passion to the Cross for us.

Loving our children like Jesus loves our children guides us to help them to know Him as we intentionally teach them to learn more about Him. What an honor it is to raise children to know HIm and love Him. And as you are praying for them each day then our children receive all of the promises that belong to them.
When they had finished everything required by the law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth. The Child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom; and the favor of God was upon Him. Now every year His parents went to Jerusalem for the festival of the Passover. Luke 2:39-41
