Therefore, since it is by God’s mercy that we are engaged in this ministry, we do not lose heart. We have renounced the shameful, underhanded ways; we refuse to practice cunning or to falsify God’s word, but by the open statement of the Truth we commend ourselves to the conscience of everyone in the sight of God. And even if our Gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing clearly the light of the Gospel of the Glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For we do not proclaim ourselves; we proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and ourselves as your slaves for Jesus’s sake. For it is the God who said, “Light will shine out of darkness,” who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the Glory of God in the face of Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:1-6
As a Christian you have been given much-- much of God's mercy and in turn you show mercy to others; much forgiveness from God which leads you to forgive others readily; and much unity with other Christians-- so that we see that all persons can realize and accept for themselves that Christ has died for them and is their Savior.
We tell someone else about the Gospel and perhaps that person gives their heart to Christ. I asked a young woman if there were mean girls in Junior High School and she said the meanest girl that she's ever known this school year, got in her face and repeatedly said the worst words that she'd ever heard in her life. Yet, this young woman did not lose heart.
The young girl said, "I immediately took my Bible out of my backpack and read the Scripture to her." She used the Power of Christ's words to overcome the trash talk the other girl was spewing. "I didn't know what else to do!" she said. I responded, "You made the right choice in that tough situation."
You have Gospel Power when you speak the words of Scripture!
